About

A Catholic is never a foreigner where there is a Catholic Church.

For us Catholics we can never say we don’t sing the Lord’s songs in a strange land because, as St. Ignatius of Antioch said, “Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church”. So, wherever there is a church there is our home.

This humble project was born mainly to make the stay of our brothers and sisters, the faithfuls of the Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference and Lesotho Catholic Bishops Conference, who are staying abroad a little bit homely.

Hymns books are some of the things we rarely think about taking with us when we go abroad and when the nostalgia hits us, especially on Sundays, we sometimes console ourselves by singing our beloved hymns. But as it happens, often we don’t remember the words of many hymns and we wish we could sing them in full. Well, worry no more!

Besides, it’s about time we went digital.

The English hymns sung in Southern Africa have long been online and our African lagged behind, hence, we have these hymns in the four African languages offered on this website. We are hoping to add more languages in the future.

“…be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another [in] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts.” Eph 5:19
